What time is drop-off and pick-up?
Camp runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day.
- Drop-off: Doors open at 8:50 AM for a 9:00 AM start
- Pick-up: 4:00 PM
To help the day start smoothly and safely, we ask families to arrive as close to these times as possible. Campers are supervised during camp hours only.
What if my child is nervous or new to camp?
Many campers are attending for the first time! Our leaders are experienced at welcoming children, helping them settle in, and building comfort through routine, relationship, and fun.
What should my child bring to camp each day?
Campers are asked to bring:
- Day pack / backpack
(Used to carry essentials like a water bottle, rain gear, sweater, sunscreen, etc. School backpacks are a great fit.) - Lunch and snacks
(See lunch details below.) - Water bottle – full
Campers are active and outdoors every day. - Dress for changing weather
Please send campers prepared for outdoor play:- Closed-toe running shoes (no sandals please)
- Rain jacket and/or rain pants
(We go outside in light rain—weather is not a deterrent for outdoor play.) - Warm sweater or sweatshirt
- Sun hat that covers head, ears, and face
- Insect repellent
- Sunscreen and lip balm
- Optional (weather permitting):
- Small towel and a change of clothes for water games
🔹 Home Base:
Each group has a designated “home base” space. Items that don’t need to be carried all day can be safely left there until needed.
What about lunches and snacks?
Snacks are provided daily for all campers.
Campers should bring their own lunch, unless otherwise noted.
Some host sites may provide lunch during the week. Full details will be shared in the Welcome Email, sent approximately one week before camp begins.
Camp days are active and full of movement. If your child is a big eater or a picky eater, we encourage you to send extra food to help keep them energized and comfortable throughout the day.
🚫 Allergy Awareness:
Please do not send foods containing nuts or nut products, as we may have campers with severe allergies. We do our best to be allergy-aware and appreciate your support in keeping camp safe for everyone.
If you have food-related questions or concerns, please reach out—we’re happy to work with families.
What if my child has allergies or specific needs?
We work closely with families to support individual needs wherever possible. Please share relevant information during registration or contact us directly so we can plan together.
What happens if the weather changes?
We adapt activities as needed to keep campers safe and comfortable. This may include adjusting outdoor plans or moving activities indoors.
Do campers need to be religious to attend?
No. Camp Caravan is rooted in the Christian tradition and shared in ways that are welcoming, inclusive, and respectful of diverse beliefs.
How does check-in and check-out work?
Clear check-in and check-out procedures are in place each day to ensure camper safety. Campers are released only to approved caregivers.
Are electronic devices allowed at camp?
Camp Caravan is a chance for campers and leaders to be fully present, connect with one another, and enjoy time together without screens. We encourage families to leave electronic devices at home, including cell phones, music players, and gaming devices.
If a device does come to camp, it should remain in the camper’s backpack and out of sight during the day. Camp Caravan is not responsible for lost or damaged devices.
This screen-free approach helps create a shared, engaged camp experience for everyone.
Is there an off-site day during the week?
Yes — one day during the week (often Thursday) is an off-site outdoor day.
- Campers will walk to a nearby park around 9:45 AM
- Activities include outdoor exploration, games, and a picnic lunch
- Groups return to camp or are picked up at the off0site location depending on site
📧 More details will be shared in the Welcome Email, sent approximately one week before camp begins.
