Pathways to Leadership
π Camper β π± Junior Youth β π YouthCrew β π Staff
At Camp Caravan, leadership grows over time. We believe young people develop confidence, skills, and a sense of purpose best when they are supported, mentored, and invited to grow at their own pace.
Our Pathways to Leadership offers meaningful ways for children and youth to move from camper to leaderβbuilding skills, responsibility, and connection along the way.
π Why This Matters
This pathway helps young people:3
- Grow confidence and leadership skills over time
- Experience mentorship in a safe, supportive environment
- Feel valued as contributors to their community
- Build lasting connections and memories
At Camp Caravan, leadership isnβt about titlesβitβs about showing up, caring for others, and growing together.

π± Junior Youth– step into leadership while still being a camper
Ages 12β14
Junior Youth continue to enjoy the full camp experience while beginning to take on small leadership roles. They help with activities, support younger campers, and learn what it means to be part of a team.
This stage is about trying leadership on, with encouragement, guidance, and plenty of room to grow.
π YouthCrew- Lead. Learn. Belong.
Ages 15β17
YouthCrew members serve as junior staff, supporting games, activities, setup, and daily camp life. With mentorship from senior leaders, they develop practical leadership skills, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
YouthCrew is a hands-on leadership experience and a meaningful way to contribute to the camp community.
There is no cost to participate in the YouthCrew program, and itβs a great option for teens seeking leadership experience, volunteer hours, or a deeper connection to camp.
